For athletes
Who can use this — any athlete can register and connect their own TrainingPeaks or Strava, with or without a coach. If your coach already works with you in PlanMyPeak, sign up with the email they have on file so we can link you automatically.
Register your account
Open the PlanMyPeak app and choose Register as an athlete. Enter your first and last name, the email address your coach has on file for you, and create a password.
We’ll send a verification link to that email. Open it to confirm your address — this is how we make sure your account really belongs to you before connecting it to your training history.
Didn’t get the email? Check your spam folder first. If it still hasn’t arrived, try signing in — when your email isn’t confirmed yet, we show a Resend confirmation email button so you can request a fresh link.
If your coach already uses PlanMyPeak, sign up with the same email they have on file so we can link you to them automatically. Not sure which email that is? Ask your coach. You don’t need a coach to sign up — if there’s no match yet, your account is still ready to use and your coach can link to you later.
After you verify
Once you click the verification link, your account is ready. On your first visit we show a welcome page inviting you to Connect TrainingPeaks — connecting is the fastest way to get value from PlanMyPeak, because it brings your workouts in for review. You can choose Connect TrainingPeaks right there, or select Skip for now to go straight to your Dashboard.
Skipping is never final: you can connect at any time from Integrations — you don’t have to wait for a coach either. When a coach later adds you to their roster, your existing connection links to them automatically. If you already connected TrainingPeaks, the welcome prompt simply doesn’t appear.
Connect your TrainingPeaks
Open Integrations and find the TrainingPeaks card to link your TrainingPeaks account. Connecting lets PlanMyPeak read your completed and planned workouts so your coach’s analysis stays up to date — straight from your own TrainingPeaks account.
To connect:
- In Integrations, select Connect TrainingPeaks.
- Sign in to TrainingPeaks and approve the access PlanMyPeak asks for.
- You’ll come back to Integrations with your status shown as Connected.
Once you’re connected, we start syncing your recent and upcoming workouts right away. If anything looks out of date — or your first sync ran before a coach added you to their roster — use Sync now on the TrainingPeaks card to refresh your workouts on demand.
Use your own TrainingPeaks login — not your coach’s. It’s fine if your TrainingPeaks email is different from the email you signed up with; connecting links the two for you.
The card always shows your current status:
- Connected — your workouts are syncing. Use Sync now to refresh your workouts on demand. You can Disconnect any time to stop sharing, or Reconnect to refresh access.
- Reconnection needed — your TrainingPeaks access expired. Choose Re-authorize to resume syncing.
- Not connected — choose Connect TrainingPeaks to get started.
If TrainingPeaks doesn’t grant the access we need, we’ll tell you on the Integrations page and you can reconnect and accept the requested permissions.
Your dashboard
The Dashboard is your home screen. It shows two at-a-glance panels for the current week:
- This week — how this week’s training load is progressing.
- Weekly summary — your training totals (time, distance, TSS, and more) for recent weeks, with a chart to compare week to week. When your TrainingPeaks account records a daily resting heart rate, each week also shows your average resting HR, and you can add a resting-HR line to the chart to track recovery alongside training. If you have no resting-HR data, it simply doesn’t appear.
These are the same panels your coach sees for you, so you’re always looking at the same picture.
Your assigned coach is shown in the left navigation panel, under the Athlete label. If you haven’t been matched with a coach yet, it reads Coach: not assigned.
View your activities
Your activities lays your workouts out on a scrolling calendar — you don’t have to wait for your coach to finish a review to see them. Open one to see a quick review in place, or the full read-only view: your workout, its sensor data, and the compliance analysis of how the effort matched the plan.
When you’ve done the same planned workout before, the review also shows a matching rides panel. Expand it to compare this ride with your earlier rides of that workout — the same numbers side by side, with arrows showing what went up or down since the previous time.
Finding your way around the calendar:
- The calendar opens centred on today so you start on the current week.
- Today is highlighted with a coloured outline so the current day is easy to spot as you scroll.
- The Today button at the top of the calendar jumps you straight back to the current day whenever you’ve scrolled off to another week or month.
- On a narrow window the week grid keeps each day readable and adds a horizontal scroll bar rather than squashing the cards.
- Opening an activity shows its review in a pop-up. Use the Full review link in the pop-up’s header to open the complete review on its own page.
The colour of each activity card tells you how the effort went:
- Green — a completed workout.
- Red, labelled Not completed — a planned workout whose day has passed without a matching activity.
- Neutral — a workout still to come, or a rest day (a rest day is never flagged as missed).
Each activity also shows where its analysis is:
- Reviewed — your coach has approved it, so their AI feedback is ready to read.
- Awaiting coach review — the analysis is done and your coach is reviewing the AI feedback before it’s shared.
- Analysis in progress — we’re still preparing the analysis for this workout.
Your activity, its data, and the compliance analysis are visible right away. The AI coach feedback is the one part that waits — until your coach approves it, that section shows a “waiting for coach review” (or “being prepared”) note instead. This keeps drafts and in-progress feedback private until they’re ready.
Activities are read-only for athletes — approving, editing, and refining feedback are coach-only actions. The one thing you can add is your own feedback on a reviewed report, below.
Give feedback on a report
Once a report is reviewed, a Your Feedback panel appears under the coach feedback:
- Thumbs up / thumbs down — tap to tell your coach whether the report was helpful. Tap again to clear it, or switch to the other thumb any time.
- Comment — leave a note about how the session actually felt. The comment box starts small and grows when you tap into it. You can add more comments later; they build up as a conversation under the report.
Your coach sees your rating and comments on their side of the same report, so it’s a quick way to close the loop after each session.
If your TrainingPeaks account is connected, each comment is also posted to the matching workout in TrainingPeaks — so your note travels with the workout wherever your coach reads it. This needs a TrainingPeaks account type that supports workout comments (Premium); if the post doesn’t go through for any reason, your comment still appears here as normal.
The feedback panel only appears once the report has been reviewed — you can’t rate a report you can’t read yet. Comments can’t be edited or deleted after sending.
Get notified when feedback is ready
When your coach approves a report, you’re notified right away — no need to keep checking back:
- In the app — the bell in the top bar shows a count of unread notifications. Open it to see “Your activity feedback is ready” and select it to jump straight to that report. If you have the app open, the notification appears live.
- By email — we also email you a link to the report.
Prefer fewer emails? Open Settings → Notifications and turn off Feedback ready emails. You’ll still see the in-app notification.
